Wimbledon Tennis Betting Odds: Rafael Nadal vs Andy Murray

For the second consecutive Grand Slam tournament, good friends Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray will face off for a spot in the championship match. Nadal is -225 favorite on Bodog Sportsbook’s tennis odds for Friday’s Wimbledon semifinal at the All England Club and there will be live betting available.

Top-seeded Nadal thought for a time he wouldn’t even be able to play in the quarterfinals. During his fourth-round match against Juan Martin del Potro, it looked like Nadal might be forced to check out early. He injured his left foot in the first set, and the pained expression on his face seemed genuine. Nadal feared the foot was broken. But an MRI scan revealed "nothing serious" and Rafa was cleared for Wednesday's quarterfinal action. Nadal numbed his injured left foot with a painkilling injection and then beat No. 10 Mardy Fish of the United States 6-3, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4.

The fourth-seeded Murray, a Scotsman who is looking for his first Grand Slam title and will have an entire nation behind him, had little trouble in breezing past unseeded Feliciano Lopez of Spain 6-3, 6-4, 6-4. No player from Great Britain has won the men’s singles title at Wimbledon since 1936.

Nadal is on a 19-match winning streak at the grass-court Grand Slam – he has won Wimbledon in his past two trips here but missed 2009 with an injury — and is 31-2 since the start of the 2006 tournament; both losses were against Roger Federer in finals. He's 11-4 against Murray, including a victory in last year's Wimbledon semifinals. The two have faced off twice in 2011, with Nadal winning handily both times on clay. Even if Nadal wins this match and the championship, he will lose his world No. 1 ranking if Novak Djokovic beats Jo Wilfried Tsonga in the other semifinal match Friday.
