Head coach Bill Belichick was the first to say his team needed to perform with more urgency following the loss, and they should respond in the final week of the preseason with a game against the New York Giants on Thursday.

It was more than the final score at the end of the Patriots’ first two games, it was the way in which the team was able to hit that mark. New England didn’t look nearly as sharp against the Lions this past week on either side of the ball, and the team will definitely play with more urgency in their final tune up before making the trip to Miami to face the division-rival Dolphins in week one. Rookie quarterback Ryan Mallett will likely see a ton of action, and it will be crucial for his development to have a strong outing.

The way in which Belichick and the Patriots handle their business, there is little doubt that they will bounce back with a huge win in this game. The Giants are tired and not prepared for a second game in four sports betting bonus nights, and it will show right from the opening kickoff.
