NFL Football Playoff Predictions

We have three games left on the regular season NFL betting schedule and we still haven’t sorted out much of the NFL playoffs yet. Only the New England Patriots have clinched a spot in the postseason, thanks to throttling the Chicago Bears in the snow on Sunday. Let’s clarify this muddy picture conference by conference.
NFC Playoff Picture:
1. Atlanta Falcons (11-2 SU)
2. Philadelphia Eagles (9-4 SU)
3. Chicago Bears (9-4 SU)
4. St. Louis Rams (6-7 SU)

On the bubble: New Orleans (10-3), Tampa Bay (8-5), New York Giants (9-4), Green Bay (8-5), Seattle (6-7), San Francisco (5-8).
Before we crack down on the NFC, let’s just all collectively agree that nobody is factoring in the pretenders from the NFC West in to any NFL playoff predictions. Unless maybe Sam Bradford is involved. Even then…
What has made the three-game home stretch in the NFC so damned interesting is the concussion problems of Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers who could very well lose their next game turning their playoff dreams into a nightmare.
Everyone’s NFL playoff predictions somehow involved the Packers during the preseason. Hell, they were most people’s pick to win the NFC Championship. Now those chances seem as cloudy as Rodgers’ brain.
Instead, the divisions giving us two interesting scenarios are the NFC East and…the NFC South? The Giants and Eagles will put their playoff destinies on the line in the NFL Game of the Week when they face off this coming weekend, putting the losing team in clear “win out” situation for the remainder of the season.
Perhaps the most startling NFL playoff predictions are coming from the NFC South, where the defending champion Saints have avoided the Super Bowl hangover and the Madden Curse in one strange season. Right behind them is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have two home stands against Detroit and Seattle before entering could be a vital game at New Orleans in Week 17.

On the bubble: San Diego (7-6), Indianapolis (7-6), Baltimore (9-4), New York Jets (9-4), Miami (7-6)
Jacksonville will play Indianapolis in Week 15, and if they win that game, their playoff chances are all but assured. The Jaguars haven’t been all that convincing overall, but nobody is taking them lightly in football betting, especially considering that they’re 6-0 ATS over the past 6 games.
San Diego rightfully lost the chance to control their own destiny by stinking up the AFC West during the first ten weeks of the season, and then losing to Oakland just two weeks ago. They literally need Kansas to lose a game to win the division, but considering that the Chiefs play St. Louis, Tennessee and Oakland to close out the season, I don’t like those odds. That is, of course, unless Matt Cassel’s disembodied appendix continues to haunt him.
No team has more riding on the home stretch than the New York Jets, who have let their mouths do the talking, while their opponents did the walking right over their faces. Along with the Baltimore Ravens, the Jets have the best chance of earning a wild card berth in NFL playoff predictions, but two road games in blistering cold Pittsburgh and even colder Chicago should have many worried. They end the season against the Buffalo Bills, who would love nothing more than to end their season by lambasting the Jets.
Should the Jets lose their next three games, and end the year winless in five games, that would open the door for San Diego and Indianapolis. You could easily argue that they’re simply too talented to pull that off, but Mark Sanchez has looked lifeless lately and he’s putting any NFL playoff predictions involving the Jets in serious jeopardy.
